Paw Count

6 min

You're reviewing four therapy-session transcripts from the same patient, recorded across consecutive weeks. Somewhere in these sessions a plain factual detail contradicts what was stated in an earlier session. Your job is to identify (a) which session holds the contradicting statement and (b) what that contradiction most likely reveals. This is a puzzle, told with care — the patient is invented, and you're looking for a factual mismatch, not a mood reading.

The scene

A woman in her late thirties building a new routine after redundancy, who fostered and then adopted a rescue greyhound — and is quietly managing a drifting friendship with her closest colleague.
