Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 July 2026 · Daily Edition

By using our sites you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

1. What these sites are

Daily Edition publishes small, free daily puzzle games. Daily Casefile posts a short case each morning across five rotating formats — Detective, Cipher, Verdict, Audit, and Forensic — each designed to be solved in about five minutes. Daily TinyQuest is a tiny point-and-click adventure with several endings to find. No account is required for either. The puzzles, adventures, their solutions, and the artwork are original works we create; some are produced with AI assistance and pass an editorial and solver check before they air.

2. What is yours, what is ours

Yours: anything you send us — feedback, bug reports, or an email address you submit for a reminder. You keep ownership of what you contribute and grant us a non-exclusive licence to use it to run and improve the games.

Ours: the following are original works, copyright Daily Edition (the © year in the footer):

  • The cases and adventures themselves — puzzle text, evidence, clues, ciphers, scenarios, scripted scenes, endings, and their solutions
  • Artwork, cover images, and scene illustrations
  • The format designs, scoring systems, and difficulty models
  • Site design, layout, colour system, typography, brand marks, and logos

3. Acceptable use

You may, at no cost:

  • Play, browse, and link to any page on our sites
  • Share your result or a link to a case or adventure with others
  • Subscribe to a daily reminder and unsubscribe at any time
  • Quote a short excerpt of a case or adventure with attribution and a link back

4. What we don't allow

  • Republishing cases, adventures, or solutions — reproducing our puzzles, their answers, or the artwork on another site or product without written permission
  • Bulk scraping — automated harvesting of content, especially to build a competing puzzle service. We may rate-limit, fingerprint, and block sustained automated traffic not tied to a real player
  • Removing attribution — stripping our credit or brand from any permitted excerpt
  • Commercial use of our brands — the Daily Edition, Daily Casefile, and Daily TinyQuest names, brand marks, and logos are reserved

5. No warranty

We do our best to keep the puzzles fair, accurate, and solvable, but everything is provided “as is” without warranty. Cases, adventures, scores, and hints are best-effort and may occasionally be wrong or unavailable. The games are for entertainment; don’t rely on them for anything that matters.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of the sites. Where we cannot exclude liability — for example, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud — we do not attempt to. For all other matters, our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the sites is limited to GBP 100.

7. Eligibility

The sites are intended for users aged 16 and over. If you are under 16, please use them only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

8. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or block access for anyone who breaches these Terms — for example, by scraping, removing attribution, or bypassing rate limits — without notice and at our discretion. We may also change or discontinue any feature of the games at any time.

9. Severability and entire agreement

If any clause of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining clauses continue in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Notice, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding use of the sites and supersede any prior arrangement.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that, if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or in the EEA, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the sites after a change means you accept it.
