Open Door Policy

6 min

You're reviewing four therapy-session transcripts from the same patient, recorded across consecutive weeks. Somewhere across them a plain factual detail contradicts itself — something the patient states one way early on, then another way later. Your job is to identify (a) which session contains the contradicting statement and (b) what that contradiction reveals, choosing from the options below. This is a puzzle, told with care. The patient is invented. The mismatch you're looking for is a concrete fact, not a mood or a feeling.

The scene

A woman in her late twenties untangling feelings about her former flatmate moving back to their city after two years abroad.
