On 12 August 2026, Lot 33 — a 2017 John Deere 6120M tractor, serial JD6120M-2017-88241 — sold at Grange Fields for $74,800, some $14,300 above its pre-sale appraisal of $60,500. Auction records show that bidder card #47, registered to a 'Gary Nall', drove the price through nine incremental raises before dropping out the moment a genuine buyer, Warren Foss, placed what turned out to be the final bid. Investigators allege that 'Gary Nall' does not exist, and that Roy Cutler arranged for a confederate to hold card #47 and push the price artificially high. Cutler insists the bidding was genuine competition and that he has never seen the man holding card #47 before. The jury must decide whether the bidding on Lot 33 was fraudulent, and identify whose testimony, together with the evidence, settles the question.
