A routine post-event saliva swab ordered by the presiding official returned a trace positive for acepromazine, a sedative prohibited under British Equestrian Federation rules. The prosecution contends that head groom Rosa Tilney, who prepared Marchpane's Folly for the ring and was the last person with access to his feed that morning, administered the drug to sabotage Bethany's performance.
