On the morning of 18 July 2026, Northgate Festival security staff intercepted a batch of 200 suspected counterfeit tickets at the venue gates. Forensic inspection showed the tickets had been printed on a commercial offset press, not the festival's licensed digital ticket system. Investigators traced the paper stock — a distinctive 140 gsm cream card with a red watermark thread — to a consignment delivered to Mercer Street Press on 14 July. Otto Crane was on shift that day and had previously complained publicly that he had been refused press passes to the festival.
