Shifted Canvas at Crabtree Pier

≈ 4 min

Overnight between Tuesday 6 October and Wednesday 7 October 2026, someone entered the locked Crabtree Pier Arcade. The arcade's owner, Desmond Foyle, had agreed to temporarily house three oil paintings on behalf of the Crabtree Cove Heritage Society while the society's storage room was being replastered. The paintings were hung on the arcade's inner eastern wall. When the arcade caretaker arrived at 08:10 on Wednesday morning, one painting — a medium-format seascape titled 'Evening Haul' — had been moved from its position on the wall and was found face-up on a display counter roughly four metres away. Nothing was taken. Your task is not to name the offender, but to profile their behaviour.
