Faded Glory at the Summit Station
≈ 6 min
The Crestfall Alpine Rose Society holds its annual judging weekend each September at the Crestfall Funicular Hotel, whose terraced gardens contain several competing rose beds. On the morning of judging day, the head gardener discovered that the bed entered by competitor Margit Solano — widely tipped to win the prize — had been destroyed overnight. The bed showed signs of chemical treatment rather than physical uprooting. Investigators are asked to profile the behaviour of whoever did this, not to identify them by name.
