The morning after the Hardale regional junior pairs championship, rink manager Bev Sharpe noticed that the engraved silver trophy kept overnight in the display cabinet had been swapped for a plain nickel-plated duplicate. A transfer docket — form RT-3, used to log official movements of club property — was found tucked inside the cabinet, but its entries appear to contradict the physical evidence left behind on the ice and in the equipment room.
