The Ascent of Car Number Three
≈ 4 min
Overnight, a seasonal worker named Pip Okafor escaped from the locked overnight holding room at Morcombe Funicular's lower station — a room used temporarily to detain fare-dodgers and trespassers until the morning shift. By morning the room was empty, the lock undamaged. Station manager Ruth Calloway has asked investigators to reconstruct the sequence of Pip's escape: a window bar was found filed partway through, a heavy equipment crate was found shifted beneath that window, and a spare master key was found missing from the key cabinet. Determine the order in which these and the surrounding events occurred.
