The Quiet Feathers of Enclosure Nine

Keeper Miriam Solt reported this morning that Coco, a hyacinth macaw valued at several thousand pounds and registered under zoo tag HZ-114, has vanished from Enclosure Nine. The bird was replaced with a painted resin decoy of similar colouring, propped on Coco's usual perch. Zoo director Patel has called in an investigator to determine the sequence of events that led to the substitution — and whether an internal accomplice was involved.
