The Tide Mill Inheritance

9 min

Wealthy recluse Edmund Harcastle was found dead at the foot of the tide mill's interior staircase on the morning of July 3rd, 1923. His nephew, Oliver Harcastle, stands to inherit the entire estate — but only if Edmund died without having signed a new will naming the local parish as sole beneficiary. Police have recovered six key events from witness statements and physical evidence. You must arrange them in the precise order they occurred to determine whether the unsigned will or the signed will governs the estate — and whether a crime was committed.

The scene

A coastal English village, 1923. A derelict tide mill and the adjacent estate house.
