A Shadow Over the Prompt Book

≈ 6 min

Twenty minutes before curtain, the Guild's borrowed centerpiece — a 1920s brass carbide lamp lent by the county museum for the final scene — was found slick with dark stage makeup and wrapped in a dresser's cleaning rag inside the props cage. Beside it lay dresser Tessa Lunn's monogrammed brush and a smear of her signature greasepaint, all but signing her name to the sabotage. The cast insist Tessa adores the piece; someone wanted the museum, and the Guild's standing with it, to blame her.
