The Splintered Rigger
≈ 4 min
The Ostley men's eight race in tomorrow's Founders' Regatta, and their prize shell — 'Perseverance', a carbon racing eight — was left racked and race-ready after last night's final water session. This morning the bow-side rigger was found deliberately loosened and cracked, the wing-nut backed off and the alloy arm scored with a hacksaw. The crew cannot compete on it, and someone spent the night hours making sure of that.
