Moonlark Ridge's annual Perseid open night ended at 10 PM, and the dome was locked down for the season. This morning, director Ines Calvo found the observatory's brass donation strongbox forced open and empty — and, tucked deliberately beneath the volunteer coordinator Toby Ferris's coat in the equipment closet, the missing lockbox key and a folded wad of the donation notes. Ferris swears he never touched either. Someone wanted him found holding the evidence.
