The Toll Register of the Seefahrtsgasse Kornhaus

Each quarter the keeper of the Seefahrtsgasse Kornhaus must present to the Lübeck Rat a full tally of storage rents, sack-turning fees, river-toll stamps, and measuring charges levied on every merchant tenant. The schedule is used to verify that the correct levy of one Lübeckischer Schilling per last of rye has been collected and passed to the city treasury. Keeper Barthold Schreve has submitted his Michaelmas 1650 schedule, and the Rat's auditor has been asked to check each line against the harbour register, the city toll book, and the correspondence on file. Five lines appear clean; one names a party the records contradict.
