The Provisions Reckoning at Hotel Paulistano Imperial
≈ 4 min
Hotel Paulistano Imperial's Head Steward, Sr. Benedito Ramos, has submitted the July 1954 provisions stocktake and guest-billing schedule to the hotel's General Manager and to the São Paulo Railway Hospitality Board, which oversees all licensed railway-adjacent hotel accounts. The Board's auditor must verify that all items claimed were drawn from the hotel's own bonded stores and that no silver or linen from a third party has been misidentified. One entry in the stocktake contradicts an identifying record held by the Board. The auditor's task is to find the single discrepant line and the cross-reference that exposes it.
