The Marlowe Estate Probate Filing

9 min

Cornelius Marlowe died on 14 March 1887, leaving a sizeable estate. His solicitor, Edmund Pryce, has filed a probate inventory schedule listing the personal effects and financial instruments found at Marlowe House. The Probate Registry has referred the schedule to auditors after a family member raised concern that certain items may be misstated. You are asked to examine the six lines of the schedule against four corroborating records and identify any line whose stated fact conflicts with the evidence.
