The Overloaded Freight Bill

4 min

Hartley & Sons Trucking Co. has submitted a freight expense schedule to the Regional Commerce Office seeking reimbursement for goods transported on behalf of the Morrow Valley Co-operative during the week of June 8–12, 1953. The office has received four reference records — a shipping manifest, a rate register, an invoice from the fuel supplier, and a letter from the Co-operative — against which each line of the schedule must be checked. Your task is to identify which line in the schedule contradicts one of those records, and which record reveals the contradiction.
