The Ferryman's Claim
≈ 6 min
The SS Marigold, a small Hebridean cargo ferry, went down on Stoneskerry rocks on the night of 2 February 1948. Her owner, Mr. James Riggs, has filed a loss-claim against his marine policy. The shire auditor has set the file in front of you. The claim runs to six lines. The estate has produced four shore-side records to cross-reference. Five of the lines square against the records. One does not. Find the line that does not — and the record that exposes it.
